Student Local Observations: Daylight Savings Time

To mark daylight savings time, here's a post on this topic. We're half a week in to the new time and I am still trying to get used to it! I keep searching for that extra hour.

Daylight Savings

The clock today reads 08:24. After a busy weekend, I am finally settling down with my computer to get some work done, hoping to start the week out strong. However, I worry that this might be difficult. Upon waking up, I could tell that today would be a difficult day, not only because of mental health barriers that stand in my way and the typical Monday blues but because the time went forward this weekend. Daylight savings is a menace. Along with the past year being unbearable enough as it is, Ontarians have to deal with the dreaded time change. Feeling slightly disoriented, I can see why officials are looking to stop daylight savings from happening. Not only am I going into a new week exhausted physically, but I am also feeling the effects mentally. Perhaps it is burnout, but it may also just be the daylight savings curse.
